Install Pincer
Pincer runs on macOS 15 and iOS 18 or later.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- A Mac on macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, or an iPhone or iPad on iOS 18 or later.
- An OpenClaw Gateway you can reach, unless you only want to try the demo.
Get the app
Section titled “Get the app”Join the Pincer public beta through Apple’s TestFlight:
- Install TestFlight from the App Store on your Mac, iPhone or iPad.
- Open the beta signup link for your platform above on that device, and choose Accept.
- Choose Install. Pincer shows up with your other apps.
You need a current Xcode (Swift 6, with the macOS 15 SDK or later) with its license accepted. The Command Line Tools alone won’t build the UI, because the SwiftUI macros only ship inside Xcode.app.
-
Clone the repository:
Terminal window git clone https://github.com/hartra344/pincer.gitcd pincer -
Accept the Xcode license if you haven’t already:
Terminal window sudo xcodebuild -license accept -
Build and open the app:
Terminal window scripts/bundle-mac.sh release # -> build/Pincer.appopen build/Pincer.app
-
Install XcodeGen, for example with
brew install xcodegen. -
Generate and open the Xcode project:
Terminal window xcodegen generateopen Pincer.xcodeproj -
Select the Pincer-iOS scheme, set your signing team, choose your device or a simulator, and run.
First launch
Section titled “First launch”The first time you open Pincer, it starts a short setup that walks you through connecting your gateway:
- Get Started helps you install OpenClaw if you need to, find your gateway, sign in and approve this device. See Connect a gateway.
- Try the Demo, right under it on the first screen, opens a simulated gateway with sample agents and chats. No gateway needed, and nothing leaves your device. See Try the demo.
Each install creates its own device identity, so every Mac and iPhone needs to be approved by the gateway once.
